What's the deal with the breaking in "high limit gaming area".
No cameras in the hallways are one thing (more or less standard in hotels), but how was this brazen theft of 10K chips in a GAMING area not caught on film???

Something's not right here or we're missing part of the story.

[/ QUOTE ]

That is what C.S.I told me as they were there in the morning, there was a high limit table with glass locked chips, the thief broke the glass and got away with the chips, C.S.I. got a blood sample, that is all i know.

The high limit room is closed early in the morning someone went in and broke in , they did not get their face on camera.

Here is what I want to know:

How did they get into the room? I'm pretty sure the Rio uses the electronic key cards, and they can see exactly what key opened the door and at what time.

You made no mention of how the "thief" got into your room.

If there are no cameras anywhere in that hallway, is it conceivable that you (or a friend) actually took the money, made it look like a robbery, and now you're trying to get Harrah's to pay you 32K?

The fact that you're so willing to donate half to charity makes me wonder if this is a real possiblity.

[/ QUOTE ]

You can see the pics on myspace.com/rakeking in the Blog, I don't know how to post them here, There was damage to the door and they are still running the key codes to the door, Why it's taking so long I don't know. It was a forced entry anyway so that is why it's hard to tell when the thief broke in.

If any employee from Harrah's stole the $, you will get a lot more than 32K if you take them to court. Still [censored] sucks. Good luck with getting it back.

The charity only comes up as I give a lot to charity and was only mentioned as it was offered on my myspace as a way to prove that this is more about principle of doing the right thing by Harrah's as I planned on donating a good share of that money to Anit Up For Africa in the 1st place. The Rio's does not question how much I had in the safe, they had a pretty good idea from the amount I posted up. Where it lies is if they are responsible or not.

My guess is the RIO has some history of getting off the hook here, so I doubt anything is a slam dunk no matter how atrociously they are acting. I would recommend to stop posting, get a good lawyer, and make as big a ruckus in the media as you can.

[/ QUOTE ]

Please, do you think this is a tad naive sir? Do you think this is the first time this has happened? The casinos had these angles covered along time ago. The casinos have lots of legal muscle and know there way around the Nevada court system. Save your 1L analysis for the bar exam.

[/ QUOTE ]

Naive? Perhaps, but less so than the post I was responding to.

First time this has happened? No, and I so so explicitly. And yes, I assume the Rio has a lot of their bases covered and a lot of experience here, and I said that explicitly too.

My suggestion was basically that he could make this a major PITA for the Rio, but posting here is probably not the (best) way to do that. Lawyer + Media = pressure on Harrah's and Rio.

Housekeeping would be the last people I would suspect. They are the obvious easy scapegoat since they can't afford to fight back. Somebody targeted you, loose lips etc.
