Country music stations (and the drivel they play that's really just emo-pop crap with an acoustic guitar and a fake twang instead of two chords and a fake emo whine) put me on tilt. [/ QUOTE ] My stomach actually gets sick when I'm forced to listen to pop country music radio. I'm getting nauseous right now just thinking about it. |

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I think I'd like to change my answer from the B-52s to this. |

I still think they're the best and most seminal band of the last 20 years. [/ QUOTE ] I think the Pixies might have a little something to say about that, but for the most part I agree with you in this thread. WTF @ hating Nirvana? They haven't even really been overplayed in the last 10 years or so. |

Smashing Pumpkins - 1979
This is the worst song on the album. I don't understand how it got so big and why people liked it so much. It is horrible. R.E.M. - Everybody Hurts Another song that is the worst song on the album, yet was HUGE and got ridiculous amounts of radio play. Off the album Automatic for the People. The rest of the album, brilliant; this song, horrendous. So obnoxiously whiny. God, I hear this song and it makes me want to shoot Michael Stipe in the [censored] face. |

Some suggestions I can't fathom in this thread. Sinatra? WTF? The only song of his that really drives me nuts is his cover of Mrs. Robinson. Everything else is pretty much gold.
For me it's just about anything by The Police. So damn annoying. Musically they're okay I guess. But lyrically they just suck. And Sting is the biggest tool evar. I don't get the Zevon hate. Saying you hate him based on one song (a song that happens to rock) is like saying you hate Yes after hearing Owner of a Lonely Heart. |

[/ QUOTE ] I think the Pixies might have a little something to say about that [/ QUOTE ] They might, but I still stand by my statement. If I'd stretched back a little further, I would have thrown R.E.M. in the mix, too. But yeah, as great as the Pixies are, I still say Nirvana just nailed it. Something so perfect from something so simple. [censored] it, I'm gonna drive around today and blast the Pixies and Nirvana all day, full volume. |
