Italian i know the law but obviously each officer is different. i was charged with a minor in possession because i possessed the alcohol in my blood stream. So your saying you would have given me the minor for blowing a .01? i was 40 miles from the border and heading to a known college town so he knew the situation and i technically did not illegally drink at all.

It's an ethical thing. What if I let you go and then you crash and kill someone or seriously hurt yourself? That's what I have to think about when I deal with drunk drivers. If I pulled you over and you said you were a member of the highly regarded cult called 2+2, I'd be like "hellz yeah" and probably give you an escort with lights and sirens.

In all seriousness though, it's a tough decision. If you were cool with me, I'd probably let you go. It's hard to answer until you're in that situation.

Remember, all officers are different.

fair enough, sorry all for the derail, btw i have had 6 shots since my last post about drinking tonight, starting to do better, but still meh.

Yeah, police officers always have to make tough choices. No matter how unfair they may seem I like to think that they do what they do to protect us. There are some cops who are real hard headed but I tend to think that is because they are rookies and dont have much experience. Most of the older cops are humbler and smarter atleast from my experiences.

The best cops are the ones who can read people really well. They have to figure out who is lying and who is telling the truth on a day to day basis and make decisions based on it.
