She's 21 or 22. I'm 24.

In hindsight, she seemed more excited about doing things with me and other people. Maybe she's more comfortable meeting in a group first. Maybe she'll get that chance.

I wouldn't give her another minute's thought, tbh.

Even if we allow for every charitable interpretation of her motives, she fails the crucial "interested enough in you to be worth your time" test.

I will absolve her of trying to manipulate you into paying for the brunch, as others have suggested. If that were her motivation, that kind of manipulation is MUCH easier over the phone.

But someone even remotely interested:

1. Doesn't out-right cancel plans. She would find a way to let you know her concern earlier by suggesting something less expensive.

2. If for some bizarre reason she thought cancelling was necessary, she would feign an illness and call you on the phone to apologize and to lock up another time.

3. If for some EVEN MORE BIZARRE reason she thought that she couldn't phone you, she would get in touch with you before the morning of the date.

She has been inconsiderate on every level. In fact, assuming that you had a good rapport going, I suspect dramatic development since you last spoke to her (reunited with an ex? heard you were a pro-gambler and thought you couldn't afford the meal? discovered she was caught on "Girls Gone Wild" and has to get plastic surgery before going out in public again?).

I mean, the things that happen on this board are just strange.

Memo to Self: never post about date on POG until AFTER successful completion.

It's a nice sentiment, but I don't feel slighted or negatively affected by her actions, and don't have any ill-will towards her. And besides, if I was going to burn her, I would date her, get engaged, and leave her at the altar.
