Re: What\'s the closest you\'ve seen to a no-hitter LIVE.
I saw Randy Johnson pitch a one-hitter against the Reds when he pitched what I remember to be 3 one-hitters in a row. I think he lost all three games too. The Reds pitcher had a no-no into about the 7th, but gave up a hit (only 2 hits for both teams). I think the Reds won 1-0.
My memory of this is pretty far off, and it would have been around 1999-2000 timeframe. |

There is no way Johnson pitched 3 straight 1-hitters and lsot all of them. The odds of that are insane.

4/27/02 Derek Lowe no-hits Tampa Bay at Fenway. Three rows behind the Sox dugout. The last MLB game I attended.

I was wrong. 6-25-99 - St. Louis vs. Arizona Jiminez pitches a no-hitter against Johnson (5 hits 1 run Johnson) 6-30-99 - Cincinnati vs. Arizona (2-0) Villone pitches a 1-hitter against Johnson (7 hits 2 runs) 7-5-99 - St. Louis vs. Arizona Jiminez pitches a 2-hitter against Johnson (4 hits 1 run) 3 games, 3 hits for his team. Awesome run support. |

I went to something rarer than a perfect game... one lost to the 27th batter: On September 2, 2001, Mike Mussina of the Yankees gave up a two-strike single to Red Sox pinch-hitter Carl Everett. Although I am a Sox fan, I was rooting hard for him to get it. [/ QUOTE ] Thats [censored] awesome. |

I went to the Randy Johnson Diamondbacks/Braves matchup in '04.
Amazing thing to have seen; I think my dad has the stubs. |
