prob not that extreme, but I don't think Leinart is the 3rd best player in the draft and he was locked in at #2 till NO picked up Brees. I'm not sold that Leinart has NFL accuracy and arm strength, VY could very easily be playing WR in 2yrs, and Cutler's status skyrocketed very late in the year, so its quite possible that he is right

[/ QUOTE ]

Strength might (might) be a problem, but I don't know where you get the idea that he isn't accurate enough... 64.8% career completions, plus... 4TH AND 9, BABY, 4TH AND 9

[/ QUOTE ]

Michael Vick was pretty accurate in college.

[/ QUOTE ]

Vick was about 58% or 59% for his career, so decent completion percent.

IMO, Leinart will be a good QB, but not a 10 time Pro Bowler or anything.

I'm surprised everyone is so down on this guy. I think he's going to be awesome. I can't think of a better QB prospect since Vick.

maybe it's just that i haven't been following the patriots off season moves, but is it really accurate to predict them taking a WR and then a RB in rounds 1 and 2?

Man, Bush will be fantastic! I can't think of a better candidate since Nixon.
Man, Felix Pie looks awesome! I haven't seen someone so athletic since Corey Patterson.
Man, I got nothing left. Something about Hitler.

Yes, you lost David Givens and Dillon struggled last year and is getting to the twilight of his career.

Yes it is, but the WR talent is so thin this year that you really have to take one in the 1st to see any dividends this year. I feel the 2nd round pick should definetly be spent on a DB, and one could make a compelling argument to take a DB in the 1st round due to that being the obvious weakness from last years team. Wow, for the first time in a long time the Patriots really have a lot of 'need' areas.

Lawson has moved up this much. Are you thinking of Mario Williams, the *other* NCS DE? He's prob the #2 pick.

[/ QUOTE ]

Nah, I was thinking of Lawson. Most draftniks have him rated in the 1(15) range, not 1(29). He was productive in college and he performed well at the combine.

I would just like to add in my opinion of Kiper. As a poster stated earlier, I feel Kiper is a great evaluation of talent and potential but he is not good ad identifying situations that will cause a team not to draft a player. Also, he isn't a GM so a lot of time what he feels a team needs is not what the team feels they need. He does a good job on draft day as he knows somethign about every player that is taken and could probably tell you all about him even. He is just not a GM, and as with anybody who is not 'in the know' predicting a draft can be very hard. Also, lets cut this guy some slack on his later round projections. It is incredibly hard to forecast the 1st round and it would be almost impossible for me to predict the 3rd and 4th round.
