sure no problem. currently on 1035 words. pretty slow going so far. its 3.26am here in uk, i just want to get it done. it's not due in till friday, but i got another one to start and finish by monday, plus exams soon. i spent last two days procrastinating, if i dont get this finished before i fall asleep, ill just waste tomorrow as well.

ill post in new thread when im done?

John, Yahoo finance is a terrible source for betas.

Better sources:
US firms
European firms
Emerging markets
Japan
Austrailia, NZ, Canada

They all (I think all) have betas from Value Line and 3 year regressions. The last update was in January, which makes it a lot more up to date than a lot of yahoo data. It's probably still missing some of the ETF's and maybe some others, but I'd be a lot more inclined to trust that the numbers are what they say they are.

thanks evan for the list of better sources, ill update them soon (trying to do another essay, 5.55am here, this essay sucks).

anyways:

P500: 1403.20
Nasdaq:2394.41
Dow Jones: 12226.17

% change since then:
S&P500: 1494.3 = 6.5%
Nasdaq: 2554.5 = 6.67%
Dow Jones: 13105.5 = 7.19%

rise in portfolio is 8.32%

3 fallers:
popez: -4.65%
hal: -1.62%
ise: -1.3%

top gainers:
span: 28.55% (was 18% down a week ago or so)
rsc.v: 25.61%
cy:: 23.49%
hero: 19.02%
vlo: 17.99%


anyone want to add any feel free or think we should sell any, just say.
