imagine a situation where a person is randomly put into any poker game in the world. meaning he might end up at a 50NL table, a 100/200 heads up razz table, a short handed mid stakes PLO table, etc. imagine that bankroll is not an issue, that everyone in this situation just wants to maximize his winnings. i'm going to define the "best" player as the person who has the highest expected winrate over the long term over a collection of these games.

under this definition, who is the best player in the world? is it a well known pro like phil ivey? is it someone known only well known within the poker community (high stakes poster on 2+2)? a theoretical expert (sklansky)? or is it most likely that its some random person no one knows?
