Yes, Howard Beale not only KNOWS me but he KNOWS me. I'll let you all figure that one out. It involves martinis is all I'm saying. EdFurlong, that's a very familiar name to me as well....

However, I have made the bold leap into the what Howard said "Dark Side" and will see how long I can hang around the 4'rs and if I can ever obtain that oh so wanted status of 'Veteran'.

I will let you know that a lot of you all have a very weird obsession with avatar breasts.

He used to be a teen idol best known for his work in "Terminator 2" and "Pecker". Now he just smokes pot and posts one-liners in OOT all night.

[ QUOTE ]
That sucks. So they were there with full approval of the hotel?

[/ QUOTE ]

Apparently. The timeshares were being built by the same company that owns the hotel. The salesman was standing at the 'information desk' that was attached to the front desk. It was impossible to avoid being stopped by him and his accomplice as you walked to the elevators to get to your room.

[ QUOTE ]
Which chain was it?

[/ QUOTE ]

It was the "Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach". I believe we were paying about $300 a night (and we were there in the off-season so I'm sure the rates go much higher).

[ QUOTE ]

Did you complain to the hotel about being accosted with a sales pitch when you were already paying good money to stay there?

[/ QUOTE ]

No, we were on our honeymoon and I didn't want to burden ourselves with complaining about stuff like this. Also, we were only staying at the hotel for 4 days before leaving for Maui for the rest of our vacation.

I thought about writing a letter to the hotel once we got back from our vacation, but never got around to it.

After having spent a few days in Waikiki, I was disappointed, but not surprised by what happened. Waikiki is VERY commercial. You're being accosted at every turn by people trying to sell you things.

Maui was much more laid back.

if you bring a laptop and check how expensive their time shares are on ebay compared to how much they cost new and then tell the rest of the potential customers, it won't be worth $300 to them. actually, they will escort you from the premises before the 90 minutes is up. you still get your free gifts though.

I'm confused...Youre giving up 5 hours of your day and paying for gas for $300? Are they also giving you a free night or anything?

Get hammered. Ask lots of stupid questions. When you leave you want them to think you don't understand the concept of a time share.

So me and 52 other people will own one condo? and we can come and go as we please? What if the beds are full? do we have to sleep with another family? Oh I see we have to schedule, so can i just stop by and use the bathroom if i need to?

It seems like going with this angle would only make them take more time talking to you to explain everything in further detail.
