Re: How Kenny Tran Rates Internet Players
raptor pretty much nailed it. I think many of us are interested to see some type of ranked list from KT. It's really hard to actually argue (both opinions and facts) without some sort of semblance of a list.

some great posts in this thread [/ QUOTE ] NVGers don't know what they're talking about and base their impressions of pros on one or two TV hands? Get the [censored] out of here. |

Re: How Kenny Tran Rates Internet Players
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] If he's not considering Patrik Antonius to be product of online poker, he clearly doesn't even know what he's talking about. PA made his name and bankroll online. [/ QUOTE ] No. That is a side issue. He has certain people in mind. He knew that some people would consider Patrik an internet player so he just wanted to make clear that for the purposes of this discussion he didn't. But that doesn't necessarily mean that he would put him in the top twenty either. Also, when he said, they can't lay down a hand, he meant in live games where he considered it a mistake. He told me about a hand where his well known internet opponent could have saved tens of thousands of dolllars if he would have made what Kenny considered the obvious play of folding two kings preflop. I guess that fold is never made in internet games. [/ QUOTE ] It's very very true in most cases. You can't lay down KK for one buy-in online. You absolutely can live (especially in lower limits)... simply because 3betting and 4betting are super rare. My first hand when I was in Vegas my last trip I had TT on a TQK flop. I lead, get raised and another player pushes. Online this is a fist pump + call, live I knew I was up against at least one straight (KK and QQ weren't present in their ranges due to pre-flop). Same trip I also correctly mucked KK preflop. Kenny is forgetting the key element that makes a great player great... their ability to adapt to table conditions. If you're an online player who couldn't pick up on those adaptations in a live game, maybe you aren't as well rounded as you thought? |

Re: How Kenny Tran Rates Internet Players
The "online guys" would be happy to play with the "live pros" any time. That pretty much answers the question.

david:
plz ask PA if he has the same opinion on this subject as kenny. If he does, Kenny is right. If he dosnt, Kenny is wrong. Either way, Patrick is the only person in world IMO who can actually put in some credible input on this debate. |

Re: How Kenny Tran Rates Internet Players
some of the things that come into play on the criticizing not folding kings preflop are, live - stacks deeper (online usually capped 100bb), 9-10 handed is easier to fold KK, while it's nearly impossible short handed imo.
Although isn't strong shorthanded play a sign of a better aggressive player? Also, Kenny challenged Genius28 (not sure of real name) to 1k/2k live a little while ago, I think during the upcoming wpt. It is pretty funny to hear Kenny talk about others laying down hands though, however strong a player he is. although his fancy play syndrome works here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKjyvaPYQVA not so much this time (would think the 2 would be reversed) http://www.brightcove.tv/title.jsp?t...nnel=901590594 |

Re: How Kenny Tran Rates Internet Players
Does he have any of the big game players in his "top 20 high stakes NLH players" list?
Where does he rank himself in this list? How many hands has he played online versus the top online players? |
