Did Wenger buy Diarra to back up Cesc/Gilberto, or will he be playing elsewhere in the lineup?

[/ QUOTE ]
He can play right back

Chelsea and ManU should be alarmed that Pool and Arsenal could both have 13 points right now due to that game in hand. If Lehman hadn't of had that [censored] at Blackburn, we would be top of the table.

So what was that chatter before the season started about Arsenal?

[/ QUOTE ]

lol, it's so early in the season to really determine anything. I'm not alarmed and I know that by the end of the season we'll be where we should be, which will be the top two

Also also note that both Liverpool and Arsenal have looked far better than Man U and Chelsea so far. If they take too long to find top form, they might punished for it later.

You cant win the league in aug/sept, but you can certainly lose it (to repeat an old cliche).

we've been able to grind out two wins so far and were unlucky against Reading. We haven't gotten anywhere near to being far behind to even come close to pushing the panic button like TSC is trying to imply. The real part of the season is about to start in the next few weeks with the Champions League gearing up. Aresenal's depth is still a bit suspect, and we'll see if Livercrap still have a problem drawing too many matches.

I'd be alot more worried about us if we only took a point against Sunderland then the full three

The league on the first 4-5 games usually looks this way :

1)Chelsea 15
2)Man.United 13
....
6)Arsenal 10
....
13)Liverpool 5

Ending the awful runs on the first 4 games doesnt mean we are winning number 19 but it certainly helps.

FACT: Man U have had their worst start to a season in 15 years.
FACT: It is still very early days.
ALMOST A FACT: However, to win the premiership you need to get 90+ points - which means that every single point you drop is a worry.

It is fun to jump to conclusions early in the season (will Newcastle take 4th? Everton? Will Liverpool win it?), but of course 5 games doesnt tell us much.

Let's have a look at the table come january - hopefully there will be one or two surprises.

Gilberto is likely to play more CB this year since Djourou is on loan. Gallas is out for a few weeks, and now Senderos is out three games. Diarra was definitely signed as backup to Gilberto and RB.

I don't know how many teams, other than Arsenal, Chelsea, and Pompy, that will be severely effected by the ANC. Signing Diarra helps us out a lot in this regard.

KDAWG, I know this stuff man, I JUST LOVE GIVING YOU GRIEF.

this is my attitude right now. Obviously I'm not happy with this start and would much prefer us to have another 2 pts, but it's in december where the seperation really starts.

Of the teams that are making the biggest surprises, I have a feeling that it'll be everton that will still be in the running, especially when James Vaughn gets back from injury. I can't see Sh(Ci)ty keeping up, because, it's still Sh(Ci)ty, even if Sven is at the helm

KDAWG, City won't keep it up because they are way overachieving right now. If we hadn't had two injuries(one right before and one during) we would have smoked them 3 or 4 nil. If you guys had R&R for the game, you smoke them as well. They are a lucky team right now, although they do have some quality players. Maybe they get better as the season progresses.

TSC, this is Sh(ci)ty we're talking about, they are pros at breaking their fans hearts, that's why they won't keep this up
