For the uninformed, what is a reasonable calling range in that spot?

QFT, but shouldn't it be moran? "morean" almost lends it a sophisticated air, which doesn't seem appropriate for someone who plays this poorly.

[/ QUOTE ]

Nah, it's "more" than a "moran". Get it?

I don't mind that they update the chip counts for busted players before posting the hand. But it's funny that they show Kenny Tran as busted, but still show Kravchenko at 2 mil, when they already posted a hand indicating he just tripled up.

LOL, now they're flooding us with blind steals.

[/ QUOTE ]

Now you know how so many chips can move across the table between "big" hands. :-)

Everyone -- I'm not worried about the criticism, and there's no need to apologize for it. I'd estimate that 90% of the criticism is legitimate, and it's worth hearing.

I'm certain that my standards for tournament reporting are higher than 95% of those criticizing us. I want to do so much more than we're able to, but there are a lot of limitations, some of which are political or economical.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think you guys are doing a great job. Much appreciated.

Kenny Tran reads busto on the chip counts but not on the live updates . . .

[/ QUOTE ]

This is standard. They can update these so much faster. At least the busto part. No report yet on who got his 8 million or so chips.

Answer: Kalmar new CL.

Wow, he's quietly climed up the ladder. This is literally the first time I've noticed him.

Kenny Tran Eliminated in 16th ($381,302)
There's a dead button, Kenny Tran in the cutoff raises to 350,000 Jon Kalmar is in the small blind and calls. Lee Watkinson is in the big blind and folds. The flop is {10c}{3d}{6c} and Kalmar checks. Tran bets 500,000 and Kalmar calls. The turn is {9s}. Kalmar checks. Tran bets 1,300,000 and Kalmar calls. The river is {2c}. Kalmar is all in. Tran thinks for a very long time and Kalmar finally calls the clock. With four seconds to go, Tran calls and Kalmar shows {Ac}{8c} for the rivered flush. Kenny Tran is out. Kalmar is up to 17,000,000 -- the chip lead.

Once Tran calls the all-in from the SB, it tightens your range waaaaay down. I'd probably call with JJ+ and AKs but nothing else. I think for someone low on chips like Farry, his best bet is to pay the blinds and try to move from late position to pick up fold equity. I think calling as the third man in the pot is a horrible mistake here, particularly as his range is dominated by a good chunk of the hands Kenny is raising on (like AK and AQ).

Well I think you can fit AKo in there as well. To be fair, he was getting kinda short, but KQs is just absurd.
