Bet >20 on the flop. 3bet the flop. Lead turn or at least chk/raise (preferrably all in). The majority of the money should easily be in before the river.
I think the conclusion is that you played it poorly and you're lucky your opponent was terrible. |

Or lucky your opponent had aces. He was pretty much calling anything you bet, and the river set was just an extra bonus for you.
It's tough to get away from a set of aces, no matter how scary the board is. |

It's true, I don't think I played this hand greatly.

.. but this happened two times already... does this change the logic of the hand? [/ QUOTE ] Maybe, depending on how the action went in those hands, and what the board was. If that's the case, then you definitely *have* to bet more on the flop. I honestly think you played the turn and river the only way you could based on the flop play (for reasons I've already gone into great detail on), but if you bet more on the flop, and get raised, then you can make a similar (in relation to the pot pot size) bet on the turn. |

Re: *****October LC Thread: LIMCASH is the new NLCASH*****
I agree, that if I would have bet like 80 or 100 on the flop, I would face a healthy raise, where I would be more than happy to either shove now, or guarantee a stack on the turn.
Leak alert: I seldom make "pot illegal" bets. |

Re: *****October LC Thread: LIMCASH is the new NLCASH*****
even 40 or 60 would be better. But half-pot, call, looks too much like a draw to bet that turn, so once you've done that, I think checking the turn (which you did do) is more likely to get value from more hands than leading would.

Re: *****October LC Thread: LIMCASH is the new NLCASH*****
Someone made a fastest hit and run ever on me today. He sat down, I folded the first hand, he said ty and left. Hillarious.
I just realized that it is possible to make a living by doing that. People usually fold the first hand so if you do it on limits higher than 2/4 two people every hour, you can do it. |

Re: *****October LC Thread: LIMCASH is the new NLCASH*****
So I'm trying to move up to the $50+2.50s. I've played about 25-30 games at this stake, and I think it's going pretty well so far.
