Re: The Official NFL Draft Thread
Cleveland felt that Brady's talent wouldn't be matched with their top 5 pick next year, so why not go for it now? I applaud them for being brave and getting their man. Who would've thought in that organization after passing him 4 hours ago that there'd be a way to get him still? FOR MUCH CHEAPER!
Dallas was just at the right place at the right time. I'm sure they picked up the phone, heard the offer, and said yes in a second. I wish Philly was there. |

Re: The Official NFL Draft Thread
This is a great deal for Dallas. Keep in mind that the Browns were trading for the player and not the pick. Brady Quinn is a top 10 pick who happened to be around at pick 22.
I think Dallas got the edge, but it isn't as lopsided as you guys are making it out to be. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] This is obviously going to turn out to be a tremendous deal for the Cowboys. They moved down 10 spots and picked up at least a top 10 pick next year...and probably a top 3-5 pick. Cowboys with a soooooolid trade there. That said, I can't knock Cleveland too much here. Their pick next year may very well not have been equal to Brady Quinn. [/ QUOTE ] cowboys get a ton back here, but it's one of those things where i can't knock the browns...the franchise has been [censored] for years and they at least need to make a statment...hard to measure something like that, but this changes the atmosphere and that might be worth it to their fans... [/ QUOTE ] Browns needed to make a statement by having a good draft, making smart value picks since they have huge holes in several positions. The 1st and 3rd was a small stretch but ok, but 2nd round this year means they can't fill another hole for this years team. [/ QUOTE ] The only thing the Browns really lose is a 1st round pick next year. I'd say they filled 2 holes quite nicely with the top rated Tackle, and the 2nd rated QB. |

[censored] it, I'm going to buck the trend and hate this deal. I think I'll still remain a fan of the Browns because they took Thomas, but [censored] Brady Quinn right in his matinee idol good looks and his tiny, emotionally fragile brain. I wanted Troy. [/ QUOTE ] LOL Troy smith over Quinn? |

Re: The Official NFL Draft Thread
The funny thing about Quinn is, when asked earlier about falling in the draft, he said the good thing about it was the further he dropped, the better the team would be that drafted him. Oops!

Re: The Official NFL Draft Thread
Tolbiny,
You're not including all the factors here. If Cleveland doesn't make that move, they end up drafting a QB early in the first round next year. That player will be a year behind in the learning curve and probably won't be any better than Quinn. They will have to pay him top 5 money instead of #22 money. Quinn is ENORMOUS value. It's a great deal. Obviously it's great for Dallas too. |
