Yeah man, just play the WCOOP. What is the buyin for it? Obviously getting the face value in cash would be idea, but it sounds like it can't happen. Look at it like a freeroll, cause it is!

Yeah, you don't have to play the $215's. Just thinking that the size of the field and the skill level and stack-sizes will be more similar to the WCOOP championship event.
But it's no big deal.

Playing ANY MTT's and then just adjusting somewhat for deeper-stacks, skill-level and size of the field should do just fine for pre-WCOOP prep-work.

Well, I won a seat in the 2005 WCOOP main event through a FPP satellite and they let me cash it into $W. Of course, I said screw it, played anyway, and finished 370/1494 (yes I remember where I finished...it's the biggest tourney I've ever played by a factor of 10)...I was a terribly bad player then (I'm just regularly bad now.) I didn't think the field was nearly as difficult as I had expected, at least for the first few hours. The last couple hours most of the fish were gone though. Still, I wouldn't get intimidated, if you run decent you could certainly cash.

Email them and ask for T$, sell those for cash?

There is a 0% chance they ill give him T$.

Seriously, it's about a 0% chance.

Even if he explained that he already has plans to go on the space-shuttle that month and can't they please, please, please do something to help him they would be more likely to just let him play the 2008 WCOOP instead.

There just isn't any way they will let him have T$ on this one.

FWIW I won an $8000 seat on PartyPoker to some European Event and I convinced them to give me straight cash...got 100% value too.
