Yeah, Im elated at the 10k.

I would consider myself probably middle of the field as far as a tourney. It's just i havent followed that particular tourney, know nothing about it, and have never played in a large tourney structure before.

Yeah Ill see what they say when they email me back.

I plan on being one of the ones who doesnt donk this money back into the community. Right now im planning on going back to $25NL, do my best to play good poker and conquer that level before making my way to $50nl.

There is a 0% chance they ill give him T$.

Seriously, it's about a 0% chance.

Even if he explained that he already has plans to go on the space-shuttle that month and can't they please, please, please do something to help him they would be more likely to just let him play the 2008 WCOOP instead.

There just isn't any way they will let him have T$ on this one.

Plenty of time to learn to play in a big tourney. Sunday Million tourneys can be good.

400 buyins should give you plenty of room to weather the variance. Congrats and gl!

Im not too worried about the variance one way or another. I just played pitifully when I moved up last time, and want to set the record striaght before moving beyond I figure 400 buyins gives me an answer.

Edit: Found in the Stars FAQ:

When you win a seat in one of the W$ special events, for example a seat in the 2005 PCA-WPT event in the Bahamas, you must play the event and will not be allowed to unregister. If you win multiple seats in the same event, the value of these seats will be automatically credited to your W$ account. If you win a seat to a satellite for a W$ special event, you have the option to unregister from the satellite and receive W$. W$ can be used to register in any W$ special event.

looks like Microbob is right on this one.

seriously, you can just play in $1 or freeroll tourneys to get a feel for the size and then remember that the players in the WCOOP are going to be less likely to be super-donk-pushers comapred to the freerolls.

With your new bankroll you could play in a $215 buy-in Sunday million or two.

And I think Stars also offers deep-stack MTT's at smaller buy-in's like $30.

It's Pokerstars. It's not like they don't give you a zillion chances to practice and tune-up your tourney game somewhat between now and Sept.

Good advice Microbob, Ill consider looking into it and reading up in the MTT forums. Ive got an insane work schedule right now with a new business, but I might be able to find some time to put in some practice. Not sure about the 215 buyins, im planning on being a total nit with this money.
