Probably we've argued this to death and don't disagree that much with each other. A table full of tag shorties is obviously bad.

But, one more point... as SNGers we should be very comfortable with adjusting to a table full of wildly different stack sizes.

Some people call me a short stacker because I buy in for 110 big blinds at 200 bb tables, but at least I'm not a ratholer. I have 360bbs on one of my tables now.

Yeah shortstackers are annoying and the good ones reduce our profitability but there's no reason to hate them. A lot of times I'm tempted to shortstack just because it's easy, robotic, tilts the regs, and so many people play absolutely horribly against them. Not to mention I could 12 table and get some serious hands in.

That thread in MSNL from a while back was pretty interesting. People hate shortstackers so they spite call them and stuff and don't bother doing the math to figure out what's going on which is what makes the shortstackers stick around anyway.

please dont.

why not?

besides being annoying, its really only worthwhile if you cant beat the games w/ 100bbs.

[/ QUOTE ]

lol, annoying? please. It's part of the game.

[/ QUOTE ]

umm, please explain how the two are mutually exclusive. were you drunk?

Shortstackers are easy to beat, however they are really [censored] annoying even if they are "part of the game"
I hate people who short stack HU and hit and run.
FD,
I disagree with your 100bb thing.
I could not beat any cash game online, but I feel I could shortstack pretty much any cash game online profitably.

[/ QUOTE ]

pudge- how does that go against what i said? What i meant was if you are better than the other people in the game deepstacked, your edge is bigger w/ 100BBs. If not, then shortstacking may be worthwhile.

well the thing is, most SNGers suck w/ 15-20BBs anyway. Its prob the depth where the most hands get posted from SNGs, b/c no one has any clue what the [censored] they're doing. Then they randomly decide it will be more profitable to play at that depth full time. lol

Is 15-20 really the problem? Seems to me the problem is like 30+. With 20 I'm pretty sure you can still figure out a pretty un-exploitable NE and just play that if you want.

NE style open-shoving is going to be pretty close to breakeven i think 6-handed.

definitely check here. river seems pretty easy to play not sure what you want to hear there. call/bet if checked to on a non-club, shove over a bet and bet if checked to on a club.

I don't think this is because it is 15-20BB play. ICM makes for some weird situations with 15-20BBs and this just doesn't happen shortstacking cash. Another thing that makes 15-20BB cash play easier is that the other people at the table have wider ranges and end up opening sub-optimally against you to try to take advantage of deeper stacked players.
