Mario Ho is sitting pretty right now after a hand against Ed Betlow. Maria limped from middle position, Betlow called from the small blind, and the big blind checked his option
The flop: Q J 4 All three players checked to see a turn of the 9. Betlow bet first from first position, tossing 35,000 into the pot. The big blind folded, and Maria raised it to 80,000. Betlow re-raised to a flat 180,000, and Maria called. The river 7 Betlow checked, and Maria moved all-in for around 225,000. Betlow called, showing 8-10 for the straight. But, Maria held K-10 for the nuts. After that hand, Maria had doubled up to 925,000. Shortly after that hand, Maria won another small one and moved up to just shy of 1 Million in chips Thought you'd want to know how your gf is doing |

Jay Benjamin Franklin Eliminated
Hand #1 Board: {Ah}{Qc}{8d}{2d}{Jh} Bob Slezak raises to 230,000 under the gun and Jay Franklin Benjamin reraises all in for 251,000 more. Slezak calls with {Qs}{Qh}| and Benjamin has {9s}{9d}. The board does not bring help and Benjamin is down to 21,000. Hand #2 Board: {Ad}{2c}{4d}{Jd}{Ks} Then, shortly after, Franklin is all in for 15,000 and Brandon Adams reraises to 45,000. Bob Lauria calls on the side. The side pot is checked down past the turn. Lauria checks the river, and Adams bets 45,000. Lauria folds. Adams has {Qh}{10c} to the {As}{10s} of Franklin, and Broadway busts Franklin. Adams has 1,200,000. Gogogo! |

Another one of ours:
Daniel Alaei Makes a Big Call We caught up to this hand on the turn. With the board reading {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}, Daniel Alaei bet 37,000. His lone opponent, Dyon Kim, raised 50,000 more. Alaei pondered briefly before calling. The river brought the {Q-Clubs}. Alaei checked, and Kim bet 130,000. Alaei made the call and Kim said, "I have a nine." Alaei silently rolled over his {K-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and Kim mucked. After the hand, Kim sits with 555,000 in chips, while Alaei is up to 575,000. Seems like things have slowed down action wise. Time to play some post flop poker. Tough call with str8 and flush board. |

Edler Sidesteps Cooler
With over $300,000 in the pot and the board reading 9 9 3, Imran Amhad pushed his last $508,000 into the pot. After some thought Phillip Yeh pushed all in over the top. Bill Edler was on the button and quickly folded. Yeh asked, "Queens?" as he turned over his K K. He was right on the money as Amhad turned over Q Q. The turn and the river were the 6 and the K, and Yeh scooped the pot. Edler intimated to Card Player's Tim Lavali, that he had folded pocket Jacks. He said that he had called the $95,000 preflop knowing he was most likely behind and right he was. |
