EXCELLENT read. Everyone should certainly check it out.

Some of the stuff he mentions seems like a stretch and he even admits as much, but he definitely points out some things that make you think damn.

After watching the episode and reading through this thread, I never once thought that Tony mightve died. Now I'm not so sure.

Another thing to note, for people saying that there is no motivation for Tony to be killed anymore, I disagree. He admitted at the end that Carlo was going to testify against him. That alone could give someone reason to want him dead, not to mention all the trouble he caused with Phil, maybe they figure get rid of both guys and start fresh.

I also totally agree with pauliewalnuts here.. when I first saw the finale I was sure it was just life goes on but now I'm on the fence, hoping that someday David Chase will enlighten us.

if the harris blog is right and he is shot dead at the end. i feel that its kinda wack that he ripped off a a scene from the godfather. i still think the blank screen was just put there to kinda freak us out and scare us. im still on the alive boat.

It was Meadow who was killed you sillies. Godfather 3... daughter dies at the end.

Also, why would Tony take communion at his own funeral.

Last rights FTW, not communion at his own funeral. The Harris blog entry is great stuff, but the answer is clearly that no one knows. I kind of like it that way better.

That Harris article is definetly good... and all the connections he makes are coherent and could possibly fit.

But I still don't buy that Tony gets whacked by Members Only Guy.

As do I. I'm not sure David Chase even knows since he has left the option for a movie up in the air. Personally I don't want to hear about a Sopranos movie entering theaters.

That article is garbage imo. Half the time it is completely reaching, and the other half of the time it points out things that were already 100% obvious.

OF COURSE Chase added in things to symbolize death. That doesn't mean Tony died.

The only thing I found interesting was the "Last Supper" shot, which is actually very Last Supper-ish

QFT. I like the ambiguity, but to call this 'obvious' is absurd.

I read the Harris blog - vg. Clearly, all the Godfather parallels point to Tony being shot in the head. BUT, while Mr. Chase is an artist, he is not an idiot, and money talks. So, he left himself an out to say "ha-ha - sure had you going" if $100M or so happens to drop on his plate to make a movie/continue series/whatever. Just my cynical $0.02 worth.

[/ QUOTE ]

The article definitely made me lean away a little from my originally feeling that he lived, but I definitley could see Chase leaving it open and will be hoping for a movie, however unlikely.
