uhhhhh, I lost some pots to donks along the way, lost a buy in today....still up 3 buy ins on the week. The turn card was the worst possible card for me- I was worried it had made one of you the full house. Anyway, the main point of the post is the river play. His all-in is a dead giveaway that he has AA** (or the less likely AT) in his hand- as he is showing no concern for the obvious trip tens that one of us has. As you let the clock run right down I was saying out loud for you to fold! This is very, very rarely a bluff when there is more than one opponent to act after him. I also know you regretted not raising the flop but hopefully you feel better now that you have seen my hand! For future reference you should be raising here though as I was representing a flush draw. (Actually I'm representing the opposite of what my opponent behind may have. That is, if you have the ten then it's logical for you to presume I have the flush draw and vice versa- because my hand is so well disguised.) **Especially combined with the fishy min-raise pre, his small turn bet, his large river bet, and his time to act on each street. (A $50 bet from him would have been a much better decision.) |

What a weird reply [/ QUOTE ] Its a running BBV joke i think. People make threads such as "ZOMG! I wins $1000 today!" then someone replys with: But how much did you lose? [/ QUOTE ] Yea its a 2+2 joke, it is based on non-gamblers and normal people who hear your poker stories, but can't believe people actually make long-term consistent money at it. For example, speaking to your mother on the phone: You: Hi, Mom! Guess what, I won two thousand this month online playing poker! Mom: Oh, that's good son, but how much did you lose? |

(A $50 bet from him would have been a much better decision.) [/ QUOTE ] WOWOWOWOWOWOW Thanks for posting that. From my angle, I had literally just been crushed by an all in flush drawer on a previous hand on a different table, and was as close to tilt as I had been all day. So that doesn't help my equation. I called preflop with a hand that I wouldn't ordinarily call with, T8 offsuit, because I love to punish minraising muppets who allow you to see a cheap flop after they give away some strength. I got the flop I was looking for obviously. Now as far as my reads go...the minraiser pots the flop, and then you call. That to me doesn't scream flush draw. That screams I'm likely beat. You're in position against a minraiser and I'm pretty sure your philosophy is similar to mine in that spot and your range is pretty wide. Although possible, I don't think you're calling a pot bet on a paired board chasing a flush draw. In any case though with trips and three way action and deep stacks, I'm certainly calling that flop bet hoping to improve my hand ideally, and at the very least see the turn action to get a better read. If a flush hits it's just that much easier to get off my hand. The turn bet was small enough to keep us both around, but then when the guy goes berserk on the river, it IS an easy fold. My tilt feelings were trying to get me to call, but I knew I had to fold, and eventually did. The flush draw hand and then this hand really combined to add a bit of frustration to my day, as it took me from a profit position to a loss position. I wish I was less aware of things like that, because in the grand scheme of things that shouldn't matter. Anyway, thanks again for posting. Very interesting hand and excellent fold on your part by the way. |

Re: Any Full Tilt regulars on here? NL 200 and NL 100
Oh and when that player winnings database site updates and shows me down $735 today, it's right. I got destroyed. This was my second worst day of the entire year. Tomorrow will likely be a day off of poker to cool off.
One of the funniest hands of the day involved having AJ vs a preflop minraiser on a A222 board, raising a minbet to $16 (larger than the size of the pot) and getting called. The river was a 9 and the minraiser had 99. He could've bet $50 and gotten called on the river, but fortunately he only bet $16. Nonetheless, I'd like to punch a hole in his face right now. Sooooo many muppets online on a Friday night, and nothing I could do to profit off of it. Also just read Narena's latest post about dobieatwar, soooo funny. Mike, you're pretty much taking the high road in the way you lay out your points, but there's no need. The guy was a huge luckbox to 3 bet you preflop with 78 and flop a straight, and then feels the need to criticize you when his hand doesn't hold up. A ton of money got into that pot good preflop based on yet another excellent read on your part. I'll be the first to give dobie some credit on being an original player who can be tough to make decisions against at times, but he's way out of line on that one. |
