Also, I am going to my first Red Sox game in about 15 years on Tuesday. I am really excited. Is anyone else going?

And my man Tavares gives them 5 innings of one hit no runs...

I suggest that from now on, we all refer to Julian as "my man Tavares".

Great.... Timlin's rehabing. Who goes when he comes back if its Lopez I am gonna be pissed. Hopefully its Pinero or Romero, neither of them are getting any innings and when they do they suck. I don't know if the Red Sox would try to send them down though since they don't have options and Lopez does.

Can someone explain to me what it means to have "options"? Thanks.

Options basically involved whether or not a player can be sent up and down from the minors without having to go through waivers where any team can grab them. I find it pretty confusing but more or less are 3 years as a pro a player needs to be on the 40 man roster or he can be taken in the Rule 5 draft (also confusing). If someone is on the 40-man roster but not the 25-man MLB roster he is on one of his option years. Each player has 3 options years and during that time he can be sent up and down from the minors as often as they like. After the 3rd option year to send a player down he has to clear waivers. Does that make any sense at all?? I doubt it..

You are definitely right. Thanks though thats a good explanation

Also, I am probably the only one but looking ahead I almost want the Yankees to win a few games. This season is gonna be pretty boring come August if they are 15 games out. I think a solid 8 game lead all season would be great just so I have something to watch every night.

Good for you kyro, you will love it. There is no place like Fenway Park, granted I am a little biased having been to 36 games last year but you will understand what I mean as soon as you walk up. Stay the whole time, enjoy the evening, and take a walk around the park during the 5th or so inning at a break, explore a bit.

yeah i have liked what i've seen from lopez this year, whereas timlin, pineiro, romero and even donnelly have been kinda rough. i think donnelly will get more work later on in the year and look a little better. pineiro i am convinced is junk, do you really think anybody is going to claim him off waivers with his $4m salary? if they do, good riddance.
