Just knocked out of the 1k.

50/100 level villain is an older guy who is more on the passive side, limping A6o UTG etc. but not necessarily retardedly donkish. Only hand we had played together was at the 50/75 level, I opened Q8cc in MP, he coldcalls in position and big blind comes along. I bet J97cc flop, villain is only caller. turn 3d, I check and he checks. River 5c and I take it down with a 2/3 pot bet.

Anyway, onto the hand. I open 77 to 300 in MP. villain is only caller in position. t750 in the pot to a flop of K98r. I bet 550 and villain calls. Turn is a blank and I bet t1050 into t1850. He calls after some deliberation (t3950 in pot).

River falls a 5 or something and I shove for my last 3.7k after a few seconds of thought. I thought of betting something like 1.8k-2.1k and make it look like value but I thought he would make a crying call with a weak K. He tanks for a minute before calling w/ Q9o and pwning me.

Just got knocked out of the 1K. CO 99 < OTB AA, if I hadn't shoved pre the flop came out A98 anyway. Lost a decent pot with Q2, flopped 2 pair and got counterfeited by running 3's.

What's everyone's best guess for the number of entries for the 5K? Right now I'm a coin flip to go home rather than spend the next 45 hours here.

friendly word of advice:

if you have a car up here and you don't go to the Dinosaur BBQ in Syracuse for lunch or dinner one day, you are doing yourself a grave disservice. amazing food, cheap beer. live blues at night.
