Zinzan:

Those lines in Lost in Translation are written in the script and available on the Internet. They were taken out because the truth is - they're garbage. Imagining them seems far better.

I wouldn't say they are garbage, just the most obvious thing possible. Isn't it just:

Bob: Why are you crying?
Charlotte: I'll miss you.
Bob: I'll miss you too. (whispered part?)

Some of the stuff he mentions seems like a stretch and he even admits as much, but he definitely points out some things that make you think damn.

After watching the episode and reading through this thread, I never once thought that Tony mightve died. Now I'm not so sure.

Great read. It is hard for me to understand how anyone can see this as anything other then an artistic and creative way to end the show with Tony's death by a shot to the head that he never saw coming. I mean, once it sinks in and you put the pieces together, there's really no way to come to any other conclusion.

No way in hell I'm going to read through 600 posts... but all I can say for sure, is that there is never any kind of way to "end" this series. This series just documented Tony's life, and at that point in the story, he wasn't going to get killed so the story could never properly end. The blackout at the end was fine.

I read the Harris blog - vg. Clearly, all the Godfather parallels point to Tony being shot in the head. BUT, while Mr. Chase is an artist, he is not an idiot, and money talks. So, he left himself an out to say "ha-ha - sure had you going" if $100M or so happens to drop on his plate to make a movie/continue series/whatever. Just my cynical $0.02 worth.
