JEsus I'm so glad that happened but Edmonds was clearly safe at 2nd. I'm not surprised by the call though, why are the rules at 2nd different than for 1st and 3rd?

Rolen has to come out of the lineup. I don't care how good his defense is, he has to come out. He is not right. Period.

I suppose this is results-oriented, but damm, he's frustrating the hell out of me right now.

Bob, why all the ignores? Not that I want to get ignored, but you've hit the Mets guys too. I could understand the Card fans, but now you've just got me confused...

#2) Although Perez's leash will be short, that means hes gonna have to GIVE UP SOMETHING to get taken out.

[/ QUOTE ]

Absolutely untrue. Unless he's got the filthiest stuff imaginable tomorrow, he could easily be out in favor of Oliver, possibly Heilman, after 3 innings even if he doesn't let up a run. Randolph could easily allow him to go through the meat of the Cards lineup only once regardless.

[/ QUOTE ]

Unless he's getting out of bases loaded jams every inning, I don't see how they would pull a guy who hasn't given up anything.

DOUBLE PLAY!

He was out at 2nd??? Certainly didn't look like it.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, of all the times Fox pulls out the super-duper slo-mo, apparently that play at 2nd and Chavez' bunt single didn't meet the criteria.

I don't think it's gonna happen, but I hope Willie let's Bradford face Belliard and Yadier, and doesn't go to Mota.

That goes double for me. He only threw six pitches.

Edit: I've been puzzled by Randolph leaving Mota for later in the game than Bradford.

Aw, shucks. I just asked a question. Who will you brag to if the Mets win?? You've ignored just about everyone.
Now I am sad...

Bobby O, it's tough for me to respond to your oh-so-logical analysis of the situation, so I'll pass, except to note one thing: Perez pitched much better last out than you are giving him credit for. When he had a 12-3 lead, he did the smart thing. HE THREW STRIKES. So what, he gave up two solo homers. Who gives a crap? Would you rather he walk people and give the Cards a shot at a big inning? He did exactly what he should have done WITH A 9 RUN LEAD.

Um, letting that clown go through the meat of the Pittsburgh Pirates lineup is scary. Oliver Perez is horrible. There is no iff ands or buts. He stinks and if he goes through the meat of the lineup once we can easily be down 4-0 in the 1st.

I know he has a 'short leash' but is he going to come out after giving up a single to the leadoff hitter? We both no the answer to that is no. He will have to igive up a couple of runs or load the bases with 1 out or something to get pulled.
