Aston Villa impress again, imo. They now have draws with Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea.

[/ QUOTE ]As an Arsenal fan, I want to argue this, of course with the typical arguments of it was early, Arsenal are now clicking so a tie is not likely. Of course I would point out that Tottenham isn't all that great either, but when you lump in the tie to Chelsea, all three now seem very related. AV looks legit. My guess, top 7 this year.

Adjusted standings updated through today (not on the website yet) with a new and hopefully improved formula.

1. Manchester United 18.80
2. Chelsea 16.68
3. Portsmouth 16.65
4. Everton 14.15
5. Aston Villa 15.07
6. Arsenal 14.03 (7 games)
.
.
.
18. Wigan 7.00 (7 games)
19. Newcastle 7.00 (7 games)
20. Charlton 3.84 (7 games)

Random question, why aren't Tevez and Mascherano playing more for West Ham yet? Tevez wasn't even on the roster today, is he injured or something?

are those standings adjusted for the 2 games not yet played?

Also, maybe Tevez isn't playing because he just came back from international play??

I'm an Arsenal fan, too. Actually, Villa being better than expected makes me feel better b/c a draw with them (I thought Arsenal played pretty well that day) is less bad than it was. If AV manage a draw with Man U, it won't have mattered that we drew with them.

Argentina played just one game against Spain, a friendly on the 11th. Tevez played 71 minutes, Mascherano all 90. That could explain in part why they didn't play yesterday (Mascherano came in as a sub at 86' or so), but in the whole time they've been at West Ham they've played 170 minutes and 161 minutes (Tevez and Mascherano, respectively).

West Ham have played 5 league games in that time I believe? That's like 35 minutes/game. Just seems odd since they played both played significant minutes in each UEFA Cup leg against Palermo.

Also, those standings I posted don't take number of games into account. It's basically like a normal points standings but adjusted for goals scored/conceded. Looking at just points per game, Man U would be first, Chelsea second, Portsmouth third, and Arsenal fourth.

Why does the media never mention when an english player dives? but as soon as a foreign player does it they say that it ruins the game

Cech has a fractured skull. Wow, I thought Cudicini's injury looked worse than Cech's but Cudicini was already released from the hospital.
