Alou placed on the 15-day DL. Jason Vargas called up from the Zephyrs. Yahoo had it right, wierd. I would have thought they would have went in other directions and Vargas being the last of their options. Maybe because he is a lefty. I don't know.

Reyes and Wright both get the day off today, per Chris Carlin on WFAN. Franco at 3b, Easley at SS and Newhan at 2b.

This has to be by far the worst lineup the Mets have ever used since I started being a fan. Franco 3b?? Newhan 2b?? My goodness, this has the potential to get ugly fast.

some of those 90s teams must've had a worse lineup, esp. in september.

but that is pretty brutally bad.

They're probably just playing a B team today to get ready for Yankees this weekend. Vargas is throwing well. The only thing that bugs me about this lineup is that they're giving Babe Easley the day off.

The rotation is also set for the Yankees series with Perez, Glavine, and Maine going.

Haha, I've been a fan my whole life. I'm 25 and wouldn't really remember a lot of the lineups from when I was 12 and under probably...but since the mid nineties when I was a diehard fan I honestly can't remember a worse lineup than this.
