[/ QUOTE ] this sounds like a good bet. the second bet you made is foolish. i'm usually on the side of the sabermetricians but it is getting frustrating to see abreu hacking, pulling off the ball, and not drawing any walks. he's trying to [censored] bunt sometimes for christ's sake. it's pathetic - reminds me of giambi's struggles a few years back. i suppose that's an argument to leave him in the lineup - still, how much longer is he going to be felix fermin?

The Yankees are giving the White Sox free outs tonight because they feel bad for them, I guess.
I mean, after it has been proved over a million at-bats that sacrifice bunts don't work over the long run, you'd think managers would learn, right? I guess not.

[/ QUOTE ] i agree, i have always been annoyed at damon batting leadoff. if abreu was playing like he has in the past this lineup would be great. obviously i dont think abreu is playing as well as he has in the past, so i think its a mistake.

Well he just smashed one... right at an opposing players. The Yanks seem to run really, really bad like that. They line out and fly out to deep center/left/right really, really often.
