Cardplayer has Rep Porter's stats all over the map. He is listed as Rep Porter from unknown location and Ralph Porter from two different cities (one in Villanova,PA and Woodinville, WA)- looking at the pictures, they are the same person.

Rep's real name is Ralph and he would be a great "rep" for poker...he is a nicer smaller version of Raymer...believe me poker could do a lot worse than a nice guy with some poker skills and a family, winning the main event....

SPADEA, the person who looks like a hell's angel, with the large tatoo? I, personally, do not believe, whatever his actual character was, would relate positively to most of the general public. This was generally occured to my because of our discussion about who would be the champion who would most benefit poker, and the poker boom. I am not saying there is actually anything wrong with him.

Welch Doubles Through Hilm at the Feature Table
Jason Welch just survived an all-in slugfest against Philip Hilm, under the lights of the ESPN feature table here in the Amazon Room. Hilm made it 120,000 to go from early position and Welch came over the top of the raise, moving all in for a total of 765,000. Hilm made the call and revealed the {Qd}{Jd} while Welch showed {Ad}{Kd}. The flop came {4d}{5c}{6c} and audience members started calling for threes and sevens, which would've created chop-pot scenarios. For dramatic effect, the {3d} fell on the turn and audience members got a good laugh out of it. The river brought the {Ah}, which sealed the deal for Welch, who increased his chip stack to 1,600,000 on the hand. |

[ QUOTE ] Seems more likely to be a big heart or nothing and he said that the opponent was likely to chk back his cards to see if he had a heart which sounds like a reasonable live read.. [/ QUOTE ] lol I believe he makes awesome reads based on comments from those who have played with him, but that is about the dumbest reason ever to call off your whole stack on a four-flush board. [/ QUOTE ] Really??.. I dnt knw abt tht. This is the biggest tourney of the year, you are deep, have KQ flop comes three hearts, u don't think an amateur checks to make sure at some point in the hand whether he has a [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] before triple barrelling??? I know its a useless tell against most experienced pros, but I think the other guy didnt sell it well enough and should have gone thru the act of looking down at his cards making sure he had it etc. before firing on the turn or the river makes it more believable imo.. |
