Re: Who is Next/Exclusive?
This is pretty tough to detect- but if u look at how JJ got caught- PP did a VERY solid investigation- in which they knew exactly how, when and where each account registered for that same tourney. He logged in- registerd- logged out- registered and logged out again from the same computer.....but then later in the tourny re-logged in again as soon as his first account busted out.
This is irrefutable evidence. I'd like Stars to do the same thing for this new case. I typicallly play MTT's from 2 computers behind the same router, and sometimes will switch computers midway thru a tournament to utilize my wireless laptop. Who is to say my buddy the professional isn't logging in for me? This is a very difficult thing to investigate- but I would like Stars to at least investigate as well as PP did. |

[/ QUOTE ] That fact that everybody thinks it is so difficult to do is great. That just makes it easier to catch the multi-accounters because they won't know how to bypass detection. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Because it's an absurd idea? You want people to be forced to put out their real names when they play over the internet? You don't even have to tell people your name in a casino, so I don't quite get how this will make it more like real poker. [/ QUOTE ] Um, you have to give your real name at WSOP events with proof of identity. Moreorever, it isn't like you can be playing two or more seats at the same time. [/ QUOTE ] At the table, you don't have to tell ppl your name. That is the analogy I was trying to get at. [/ QUOTE ] Actually, at most large tournaments players can find out the real names of players at their table, at least at the start of the day. Often the seating assignments are posted on the wall (and/or on the Internet), and if not, the dealers are given a list of players at their table (at the start of the day), and I've never had a dealer refuse to let me look at the list. But there's no reason for that aspect of b&m play to be implemented in online play. |
