Default Re: So I guess Stars isn\'t asking to show hole cards at FT\'s anymore.

They aren't showing the hole-cards of ths whole tourney.
They aren't showing the hole-cards of every single FT of every tourney.

They have this one tourney where they are showing FT hole-cards.
I'm pretty sure they have some other tourneys on their site also...just a few anyway.
How often do you plan on final-tabling this thing in the first place?

If you don't like it then play some of the other 99.9% of the tourneys they offer where they do not do this.

I plan to final table every event I enter.
Pokerstars has a few different ways of getting feedback, this is one of them. Why do you have a problem with that?

I'm with MicroBob. Sure, I would like to have a choice but in the most +EV tournament on the internet, I don't really mind. Plus there are always others.

I guess it's completely unreasonable of me to think Stars would want as many people in the tournament as they can get...

Is it completely unreasonable to think that this move actually might attract more - and especially more weak players - to the tournament?

Running replays with all hole cards revealed turns the tournament into a show. Shows - and the once-in-a-life-time chance of being the star of the show - attracts people that play for a number of other reasons than necessarily making money.

I've noticed the participation in the mill over all has flattened out since the jump when Party pulled out of the US market.

This could be part of a strategy to increase the number of participants.

Obv. strong players will benefit most from this.

If I'm right this is certainly a compensation for revealing your FT playing style to the World.

[/ QUOTE ]I certainly hope you are, I just didn't think that many donks cared about watching these replays. I am all for anything that keeps the fish happy. Is there any evidence that this is the case?

We'll see in time I guess.

If showing everyone's hole-cards makes the replays more entertaining and more watchable then maybe more fish who see these replays will be more inspired to qualify for the tourney itself. Esepcially when they sit there thinking, "LOL...that Shaniac guy sucks. I can clean up on these guys!"

No idea if that would really happen though. Some info of the number of people who actually watch the replays might help with that theory.

i dont really think this is a big deal when i won the big one i showed my cards and i dont really regret it. I think people over estimate the amount of people actually watch the final table replay and how long it runs for, which is only a week. I can see why players wouldnt want to give away info, but in the end u dont really give up much at all

I think it's great. I'm a lot more likely to watch now.

To all the people complaining with comments like "Stars is forcing this without giving anything back in return" -- Stars is giving everyone the chance to watch the FTs with all cards shown. Which a lot of people will probably like.

It's not so much about giving away the info (I probably would agree to it), but not being given the choice is what I don't like.
