nat,

now that some time has passed, do you feel like you made the right decision in taking the equity deal for the db vs. what graydot did.

obviously, a lot depends on what happens with poker, but just comment on how your feelings have developed since you signed, plzkthx.

I'm happy with my deal.

I'll give out one of the numbers just so I can illustrate...

I used to get 50% of all subscriptions. Now I get 30% of all subscriptions. But here are my benefits:

1. It's a *rev* share, not a profit share. So I don't have to pay a lot of money for collection machines and db machines anymore. At one point I had like 6 computers running all of the time in data centers and elsewhere just to support the db. So in actuality, I used to get 50% of profit and now I get 30% of revenue. That isn't a 20% disparity like it might seem.

2. While I could have signed up for this on my own, BLUFF has a big credit card processing account and they were able to easily integrate CC processing. I tried to do this for the old db a few times, but it never really worked out. So 30% of revenue is actually way more than the old 50% of profits.

I think what graydot took was the safe option. I'm gambling a bit more. In the long run, I think my option was more valuable, but that's just a guess. Anything could happen. When a lot of the NETELLER stuff went down, some people might have said Paul made out much better. So who really knows I guess.

I'll comment more on this later in the thread when I have a bunch of time to write about my thought process then and now.

What are your thoughts about online greeting cards?

[/ QUOTE ]
lol

[/ QUOTE ]
Most people won't get that one. But I grew up next to exstrax (see http://www.thepokerfilm.com/about.php) and we got into trouble in high school because we sent an online greeting card to a female student in our class and pretended it was from a teacher who she always kissed up to. It wasn't really appropriate content either. That was followed by her showing it to him, him flipping out and us turning ourselves in when we heard how seriously they were taking it. We'd both forgotten about it by the time it was brought to our attention by a friend, but that was followed by us being suspended from high school for two weeks in 11th grade. It wasn't too bad though.

good story, good well.

Hah, no. I don't see much value in the staking market as people currently think of it. It just isn't a good proposition for the staker most of the time in the long-run IMO. Finding a good stable of players isn't an easy task at all.

[/ QUOTE ]
I don't like either, but I guess peppermint is okay. But then again, I only really taste it in the form of something like toothpaste or gum.

[ QUOTE ]
Bagel Bites or any other snack food?

[/ QUOTE ]
Since I've been more healthy, Whole Grain Lean Pockets (Supreme) are by far the best tasting and good-for-me snack that I've found. So I like those.

[ QUOTE ]
weeds or entourage?

[/ QUOTE ]
I've only seen a few episodes of Weeds and I've seen every Entourage, so the latter. Ari is brilliant.

[ QUOTE ]
BoostedJ or GiftOfGab?

[/ QUOTE ]
I've never talked to GoG. I talk to Boosted on occasion. He seems nice to me. The 100% no risk thing was kinda funny. I'll go Boosted.

[ QUOTE ]
MSNBC or CNN?

[/ QUOTE ]
Dateline Investigates on MSNBC ftw. "Real" news is usually retarded.

[ QUOTE ]
straight flush draw or top set?

[/ QUOTE ]
Top set.

[ QUOTE ]
PCA or Monte Carlo?

[/ QUOTE ]
PCA. MC might be a nicer location in some ways, but the French people are annoying for the most part (not trying to offended even though I probably am). Plus the PCA is just a big party and not nearly as far away.

[ QUOTE ]
StarKist or BumbleBee?

[/ QUOTE ]
Neither. Not a fan of tuna fish.

[ QUOTE ]
HU or 6max?

[/ QUOTE ]
6 max. I suck at HU.

[ QUOTE ]
TB or Clayton?

[/ QUOTE ]
TB is my boss, so I'll pick him so he doean't fire me.

[ QUOTE ]
Gold grillz or platinum rimz?

[/ QUOTE ]
Grillz are retarded so platinum rims. I like good looking wheels, although the idea of getting platinum seems a little retarded.

Nat, I think its really cool what you did with thepokerdb and how you took advantage of the booming poker industry.

I am also dying in anticipation for thepokerflim to come out...I have no questions to ask, but simply here to wish you the best of luck in your future.
