Given the choice...give me the rate they were paying, and I will surrender my vote. <10 with no representation is better than >50 with representation.

Germany, Israel, Sweden, and Norway if you count the total tax burden.

If you restrict yourself to income, the top US rate is 35%.
In California, you get to 9.3% after only $43,000. Then it becomes 10.3% at one million making 45.3% total. New York City is a little higher still.
