Re: Who is the best Omaha 8 player in the world?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] It is interesting that mute, whom you hold in such high regard, was able to only get +4BB/100 under the best of circumstances. In another thread posters argue that +5-10BB/100 is still possible in 2007. [/ QUOTE ] Just to clarify, are we talking about big blinds in PLO8 or big bets in limit? [/ QUOTE ] Poker Tracker uses as measure of win rate 1 (PT)BB which is equal 2 * big blind and this is imho the unit we should be using too if discussing win rates. In any case Wintermute's win rate is expressed in PTBB. |

[/ QUOTE ] wintermute/hakallah/fat_nutz is a PLO8 player, but if you have incites into limit winrates or player pools we are all ears. do you play online, or are you primarily a B&M player? [/ QUOTE ] I just play live. I was trying to translate his win rate to hourly. If he's playing 5 10 PLO8, he's winning $50 per 100 hands. For a live player, that doesn't seem like a lot, but online players play a lot of table at a high rate of hands per hour. I find all these online stats interesting, but if I'm going to evaluate a player, I want to watch his play after he's run bad, terribly bad, for a few months. jmo |

If he is winning at a rate of 5 PTBB/100s at the $10 PL08 game he is winning $10 x 2 x 5 or $100 per 100 hands. As for NL and PL games PTBB/100s are measure by 2 times the big blind. |

it's impossible to talk about the best current PLO8 players without mentioning Gasss_u, Hossse_u, Gameover, Decisions, and Hilokunto [/ QUOTE ] These 5 are the 5 I was thinking of, but I am a little unsure about whether Gasss is sustainable. But these 5 have played loads of hands and are clearly all big sustainable winners. At one time I would have potentially put Brainiac in that catagory, but now...maybe not so much. |
