Okay guys. I am here to save the day. My head was spinning cause I couldn't believe this BS but was intrigued at the same time so, here it is. Party's over.

http://www.snopes.com/business/redeem/pulltabs.asp

Claim: Pull tabs from aluminum cans have special redemption value for time on dialysis machines.

Status: False

"To put this in even clearer perspective, 100 pull tabs have a scrap metal value of 3¢."

Thanks for the Snopes article, I guess, but Diablo has already graciously explained this for us. The payment is made for other reasons.

[ QUOTE ]
CMAR,

The recycling reason is responsible for like a fraction of a cent. While it is technically true that that is part of the reason, it's pretty much a negligible contribution to the payment amount and is not at all the reason they pay for them.

[/ QUOTE ]

El D explains the real reason here.

[ QUOTE ]
TSC,

Regulatory reasons, they get some sort of tax break based on various stuff they use tabs to document.

[/ QUOTE ]

Why does every thread have people who ignore the sound information in a thread and need things spelled out for them?

Your welcome rwesty but if you read the article instead of just the headline and the first few sentences it says that can tabs have no special redeemable value. As in, none at all, aside from their metal content.

Oh, I get it. Wink, wink. Everyone should just continue giving away all your extra beer tabs to superadvisor. He'll just throw them away in the garbage for you and not actually cash in thousands of dollars from them because there is no absolutely no way to do so.

I don't think this redeem thing works outside the US. I'm in England so I was wondering if one of you American cousins would be interested in working in partnership with me?

We have about 60 million people here so there's quite a few tabs just lying around going to waste. Plus if I go on holiday in Europe I could fill my suitcase up and leave my clothes behind when it's time to come home, collecting tabs would also help to fill the long days when your in a foreign country.

BTW - I was thinking of a 50/50 split after postal costs.

PM me if your interested.

Banzai,

I'd be glad to help. In order for us to get off the ground, I'm going to need some financing over here though. I'll PM you the info so you can start wiring me money.

Run,

My bank want to charge a $40 fee for transferring the $400 you need for storage bins and cleaning equipment so I was going to PM you for your Pokerstars ID and I'll just transfer directly into your account and avoid any fees, your PM box is full so I can't send to you - I hope your not getting flooded with other offers for the "European" territory, I thought we had a deal?

I'm obviously a little hesitant to post this but this is my bimonthly check for tab collection. Lotsa money in this.
