It took me like 28 years to realize this, but meat on the bone >>>>>>>>>>>>&g t;>> boneless anditisn'tevenclsoedoyouseewhy. Hot wings, blue cheese, flats > drumettes. [/ QUOTE ] in general, a good rule of thumb is bone > boneless, for all types of foods. |

Steak? [/ QUOTE ] The bone in steaks give flavor to the meat when cooked. Bone in ribeyes are especially more delicious because of this. |

I always prefer the drumettes to the flat parts. I guess I should go out for wings w/ many of the guys here so we can split up the parts we like. I go for "hot." If there's an insane/suicide/volcano/Satan's ball sweat/whatever level, that's usually too much heat and not enough flavor. I don't like bleu cheese on almost anything, but it's the only choice for wings.

I love buffalo wings.
IMO, the drumsticks are much better than the wings. First, they dip much better in the blue cheese dressing. Also, it's simply far easier to eat. I'm still looking for a good way to get the meat in between the two wing bones. I also prefer medium wings. I'm such a pussy when it comes to how hot my wings are. I like really hot and spicy wings, but whenever I eat them, my face gets all sweaty. I only sweat on my face, nowhere else. I don't get it. If anyone has any insight as to why I do this, I'd like to know. FYI, I'm not overweight at all. Finally, call me crazy, but boneless wings just don't taste as good as regular wings. |

solids, This is how I do it, but in searching for this video I discovered a method called "the smash" which I'll try next time I have wings.

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Brag: I had boneless wings from the Hangar in Amherst last night, Golden BBQ and West Texas mesquite. The combination of quality chicken and the deliciousness and variety of flavors puts it over the top. ps. their boned wings are pretty good too. [/ QUOTE ] i think me and jc are gonna go to the one in brookline for lunch today. back when i was at umass the boneless were incredible, but for a while a few years back they changed the chicken, and boneless were horrible. during that period i got nothing but boned wings and they were incredible in their own right. then they changed the chicken back and boneless went back to being UNREAL GOOD. still, this thread makes me want to get boned today. (haha) [/ QUOTE ] Daryn, Buffs Pub in Newton is easily the best wings in the Boston area. [/ QUOTE ] i really doubt this. i'd like to do a taste-off and i'd back wings with a large sum of cash if you wanna wager. we'll have to find random people to judge. sure it's possible some place i've never heard of has better wings, just unlikely. |

I'll try this in the future. FWIW, I think this technique would work best with smaller sized wings. With bigger wings, it seems like this would be too much chicken in the mouth at one time, and you wouldn't be able to savor the flavor. |
