this guy sounds like a piece of [censored]

He's actually one of the nicest kids in online poker.

If you really think...

a) a fake id
b) weed
c) driving fast in the middle of the night when it's deserted in the middle of nowhere

... is somehow uncommon among 19 y/o poker players, then you are clearly disconnected from this world.

[/ QUOTE ]

d) driving 80+ on a street (not the highway like you're making it out to be) while under the influence

it's a silly thing to do. but hey, i guess it makes him a "baller" in the eyes of a bunch of 16-18 year olds with no understanding of how doing something like this can impact people around them, so all is well.

btw, if d) is standard behavior by 19 year old poker players, they are all idiots. and yes, i am disconnected from this world, because it never ceases to amaze me how stuff like this can happen and be justified as "kids will be kids" by the majority of people. get a fake id, fine. smoke some weed, fine. but smoke and then fly down a non-major street at 80 mph? ridiculous.

p.s. -- i clearly shouldn't have said the kid is a "piece of [censored]". he could be a very nice guy, but his actions here were atrocious.

I think an important question here is why would Ozzy have a marijuana grinder? Is he so balla that he blows through his chronic without considering all the wasted THC crystals?

Definitely not trying to make it out to be a highway, it was a 35 mph zone.

was he definitely driving under the influence?

if so, i hope he gets his license revoked and probation at the very least. that type of behavior can get someone killed.

I'm sure hes a very nice kid, but using a fake ID to be able to play is cheating and should not be looked upon well by the poker community. Poker has done a lot of things to help its reputation in the past 10 years or so, and stories like this definitely hurt us as a group in the eyes of many Americans.

Well, yeah, compared to scamming people using a fake ID doesn't seem so bad.
