so your biggest acheivement is pounding on the PartyPoker fish a few years ago?

so you're basically retired but still log on to give back to the poker community by shoving with 3rd pair on coordinated boards? i applaud you.

depends entirely on the place. for instance, if this was done in california, pozzing 500k on a house at 22/23 is without question the dumbest thing you can do.

if it's in idaho where 500k apparently buys you the entire [censored] state, then sure, it's a brag

Spending 1/2 a mill on a house when the real estate market in most areas is going in the crapper is ooh so smart.

For a non-poker player I'd agree, but for a young poker player the wisdom of having money in a real asset that is not easily or quickly liquidated during a downswing or tilt far outweighs any lack of wisdom in buying a house in this housing market.
