Re: Barcelona/London plans (for those travelling the EPT this fall)
maybe we can just find a hotel styled condo for 3-4 people like Panorama Towers. Would be cheaper, have accomodations and stuff, idk.
This whole renting a big house thing Vegas style seems extremely expensive and difficult when we can't even get a commitment from anyone but 3-4 people |

for those staying in barcelona an extra 2 or 3 days, are you staying in the same hotel or moving somewhere cheaper/different?

Re: Barcelona/London plans (for those travelling the EPT this fall)
Can I get by with only English language in Barcelona, or do I need to learn a few phrases in Spanish and/or Catalonian, and if so, which is better?
TIA |

Re: Barcelona/London plans (for those travelling the EPT this fall)
all,
I arrive in Barcelona the morning of the 27th with Ajunglen. I plan on leaving Barcelona for London the 3rd or 4th. After an enormous amount of research the past couple days, I have established that getting a house would be completely retarded. our best options are either (1) give up and get some nice rooms in a sick hotel (2) apartments I've researched a few apartment sites. I found one apartment area that would have been perfect in every regard. Showers, internet, gym, room service, close proximity to the tourney site and Hyde park, etc. It was impossibly expensive. Unless the price could be changed or is different for a few weeks (it was listed nightly), I'm not ready to pay 800 pounds a night. There are several other apartment complexes a few miles from the casino at most with most of the above ammenities. Their only disadvantage is location. The price is also still quite healthy- they range from 2-3k pounds a week. However, this is our best non hotel option. I'll talk to skier and everyone and continue looking into apartments tommorow and hopefully get everything figured out by then. -Jeff |

Re: Barcelona/London plans (for those travelling the EPT this fall)
if anyone has more london questions let me know... few things:
- the Vic dropped their dress code i think... - as Jeff said appartments are going to cost you a fortune - and staying 2/3 miles away will take forever to the casino in a taxi... - most people stay at the Hilton Metropole as its so close to the Vic/the West End but its still gonna be £200 a night - welcome to the most expensive city on earth ;-) |
