All of this percentage this, +EV that. Whatever. I like that stuff when talking theory but this is a known entity, real blood and guts no straw. This guys style is tight/aggressive and everything should be decided based on him not any cold calculations. Automatic fold. He might be stealing but not very likely. Like most pro's who play his style, when he re-raises huge it means he has it and wants you to call. I think your raise was too high. Why not 2.5xBB? Easier to get away and if he re-raises, it will be an answer to your raise, so most likely a lot less than 25k which allows you to play. But of course the problem is you should be avoiding pots against him altogether since he will eat you alive on the flop. Whatever happened to picking to play against weaker players and avoiding the best players? No math there, just common sense. but if you insist you could just go all-in since your game seems to warrant the "I suck and can't play after the flop" style trumpeted everywhere on this site. Good advice but why sit there for three days when you can just go to the casino floor.

Finally, someone showed me the light. Ignore math, avoid playing pots with good players, stick to table games.

thanks

I wandered over here from the cash game forums to see if I could broaden my skills a bit and learn a thing or two about tournaments.

I am now enlightened since you just solved poker. I will now go back to my cash games, and will never open raise, 4-bet, or even call out of position against a good player.
