Ok, I'm going to head up to AC tomorrow morning and I will be away from a computer. Have we decided on this, is it actually going down? What time, what day? I'm willing to PM someone my number to give me a call if this runs and you need someone to fill a seat.

personally, i'd prefer a pink game (7.50/15), but then that'd mean the 10/20 would have to be a 15/30, and then 20/40 be 30/60, and so on...but with the borg being as popular as it is, i don't see that being a problem

I am not going to go out of my way to pry myself from the weekend 5-10 NL action but if the game went I'd fill a seat. I'd really rather Thursday or Sunday thing develop eventually but I think there are so many home games down here already it might be tough to get a regular mixed-game at a casino. Feel free to PM me contact info, I am also in the high-limit area from 6-2am Thurs-Sun you can always grab me there if a mixed game or PLO goes.

Here's a link to the relevant NJ Casino Control Commision regulation.

And to quote the relevant passage:

19:46-1.1A Value chips; denominations; physical characteristics

(b) Each casino licensee shall be authorized to issue and use value chips in denominations of $1.00, $2.50, $5.00, $10.00, $20.00, $25.00, $100.00, $500.00, $1,000, $5,000 and $20,000 and in such quantities as the casino licensee may deem appropriate to conduct gaming or simulcast wagering in its casino or casino simulcasting facility.

Also of interest is that the "primary" color of casino chips must be the same at every casino...the regulations not only state what color each chip must be, but what specific shade of that color under the "Munsell System of Color Coding".

[/ QUOTE ]

The Borgata has a $10,000 chip.

[/ QUOTE ]

Actually I'm not sure about this.

[/ QUOTE ]

No, the Borg has gray $5000 chips.

Correct 5k and 20k only.

Neat stuff. Are those colors standard in Vegas too?

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't think it's a legal standard, just a generally-followed defacto standard.

Actually, it can't be a legal standard, since some joints use blue for $1 and some use white.

[/ QUOTE ]

FWIW I was always under the impression that Vegas colors aren't legally mandated. The Bellagio and Wynn $10 and $20 don't really fit in any pattern, and $500 (purple or white) and $1000 (yellow or orange) vary quite a bit.

Archie Black's page is the best source for AC chip images. Silver State Treasures fills a similar role for all of Nevada. Both have an impressive quantity of high-denom chip photos.

Sorry I no longer live in the Northeast; $5-10 mixed games sounds fun (not that I can afford it). Just curious, why wouldn't a $6-12 mixed game have worked? Something to do with stud antes and bring-ins?

I believe the Borgata never had state approval to run 6/12 for anything but holdem. They already occasionally run 5/10 Stud and Omaha games (actually I have only seen an interest list for 5/10 Stud, but I guess they must be approved for it)
