Re: 1st level WSOP ME w JJ
There's one thing that everyone's missing here. People who min-raise/reraise with AA/KK preflop, do not bet the full pot with top set. Seriously, a bad live player who's trying to play tricky like that is going to have AA so much more often than KK based on the flop action. And QQ never ever ever takes that line, I don't know where people are pulling that from.
I think the range here is something like: 75%- AA 15%- KK 10%- AK 4%- A-x (could include a queen, ten, or jack, but doesn't have to) 1%- QQ |

Re: 1st level WSOP ME w JJ
[ QUOTE ]
Okay, I understand everyone saying to call preflop. However, the reverse implied odds after the flop are huge if the guy UTG does indeed have KK. I personally would have put him on KK. Why else would you min raise? With AA, why not just limp and with AK I would never min raise. You've now put 2K into the pot pre-flop and another 6K after the flop for 8K, which is almost half your stack. I understand calling preflop for set value and pot odds, but calling the flop when the reverse implied odds are huge if your opponent has KK...I dunno. I do agree that a bigger re-raise preflop is necessary in this situation with JJ, but with that flop I think the reverse implied odds are too large to even consider calling the flop bet of 6K. [/ QUOTE ] what? your reverse implied odds are very low playing JJ for set value. You only lose a lot if you both hit sets. Calling the flop here is mandatory, because you have AA and AK murdered, you can't assume he has only KK. And like others have said, the flop bet is more consistent with AA and AK. But preflop, you can't fold by thinking zomg what if i get set over setted. |
