WSOP is not 100% tied ti the internet now is it.
The poker dome was. It failed.
WSOP had to switch to EUROPE WSOP to get the internet cash for the main event. So in a sense it did fail.
Twist it how you want, but it still stands. If it needs 100% internet poker world to survive it will fail here in the states.

C'mon fellow US citizens, the US poker boom has SLOWED as an obviois result of the UIGEA and the corresponding drop in ability of play for average americans not living close to a casino.

But I havent seen a casino slow down yet.

And the European posters are absolutely right, their growth continues unabated. And we shouldnt forget about Asia, where poker is just now really being discovered.

No, I dont think the boom is over, I think it just hit a (mostly US) bump.

Europeans and Asians will take the game to new levels, and they will come HERE in droves. Serious American online players are not going to stop playing, no matter what law is passed. The real boom is just beginning.

The Boom has definitely peaked in the US but as others have said, I think it is still rising in Europe, Asia and the rest of the world. If the online business is fully legalized in the USA I could see a second boom here as well.
I also think a time will come in Vegas where some of the rooms can't make it and close but this will probably be a good thing because it will condense the good games into a few big known rooms.
