I'd assume he would matchup against true centers like Oden and Shaq when they play Cleveland and Miami

[/ QUOTE ]

Did Portland trade the Oden pick for LeBron?

[/ QUOTE ]

I have no clue how that happened. I was def thinking Portland as I typed that, and somehow Cleveland came out.

This looks like a great deal for PHX and ATL.

If it happens, I'll be somewhat disappointed. KG is a big upgrade for the Suns over Amare, and it is probably enough to bring them up to the Spurs level. The Suns only have a few more Nash years to make a run, and KG is not going to be declining that soon.

Also, I would have liked to see KG in LA. I'm not a Lakers fan, but KG + KB would be a sick combo and it would make all the local broadcast games here a lot better.

If this trade happens, I think it all but guarantees a Spurs/Suns matchup for the title (regardless of when it happens). It also puts the Hawks 1 player (Billups?) away from being the team to beat in the east. Quite a reversal of fortune.

MEbes has 100% solid inside information. He and I have talked about Hawks-related stuff many times.

I can't believe I'm moving to LA right after all this goes down.

It's as done as KG for Amare.

I know they're huge failure this year is a knock against them, but people need to stop forgetting about the Mavs. As currently constructed and assuming Dirk doesn't go off the deep end, they can take either PHX or SA in a 7 game series.

Artdogg, I'm sure the way you've been so vocal about the suspensions has driven non-Suns supporters nuts

[/ QUOTE ]

That's the point, we aren't having this discussion without the suspensions

[ QUOTE ]

(not that I've been much better), but your point is not without merit. In fact, speaking with people around here today they seem to be solidly against losing Amare to get KG, mostly for that very reason.

[/ QUOTE ]

In all honesty I'm not even against it. It makes a lot of sense in the short run and I don't even want to think about the post-Nash suns. I'd really love for the current crew to take it but luck hasn't been on their side and if it takes this trade to give them some breathing room as the best team in the league then so be it.

Yeah, there'd be no debate. You'd know for sure they can't get it done at full strength.

Not to start a debate, but this should answer some questions about just how good Nash is.

[/ QUOTE ]

How so?

[/ QUOTE ]

How KG does in w/Nash + how Amare does w/o Nash.

[/ QUOTE ]

so when KG returns to 2004 form, and Amare gets hurt, Nash will gain better than Wilt and Jordan combined status

Suns trade for Amare then swap either Kurt Thomas and Atl pick or the #24/#29/Atl pick for a top 10 pick this year.

That would be fine by me.
