Re: Event #39 - 50K HORSE
[ QUOTE ]
They are showing 8 hours of the final table on TV, which is pretty much the only way to do it if it is all HORSE. Probably they want more prize money at the final table to make things more dramatic. [/ QUOTE ] I think there are 6 hours of scheduled coverage, with 2 of the 6 hours derived from featured tables on Days 3 & 4. |

Re: Event #39 - 50K HORSE

[ QUOTE ] Does sound bad, but shouldn't players be complaining before the event starts? It can't be too hard for a pro to look at a structure and say "This ain't going to be too good by level x" [/ QUOTE ] Starting stack for this $50K HORSE event had 83 big bets. Starting stack for the $5K HORSE event a week ago had 100 big bets. This year I actually considered playing the $50k because the structure is worse/shallow. Rush of cards on Day 2 = new World Champ of Pokah. Mrs. Admo would be proud. [/ QUOTE ] Lol...and aren't people like Howard Lederer and Daniel Negreanu partly responsible for designing this year's structures? I don't get it... I don't have any problem with the pay structure this year, though I agree with Kevmath that it's weird they made this one event more top-heavy while flattening out the others. |

[/ QUOTE ] Seems like they wanted to make sure the 1st prize money was bigger than last year even though the number of entrants hasn't changed much. They did the same thing with the ME a few years ago making a lot more 1st-heavy cuz it's good for TV. |

Re: Event #39 - 50K HORSE
[ QUOTE ]
List of all players at start (may have a few more who've been added) Here are the tables (tentative list excluding any late buy-in’s). Patrick Bueno 2 1 Soheil Shamseddin 2 2 David Oppenheim 2 3 Isabelle Mercier 2 4 Michael Mizrachi 2 5 James Owens 2 6 Raymond Dehkharghani 2 7 [/ QUOTE ] Soheil plays in some of the local Houston underground rooms, including PL/NL Holdem/PLO round of each games. He runs an internet golf business, and plays poker on the side. In cash games, he is an action player, a gambler. He can run over a table or lose buy-in after buy-in. Never played a tournament with him. He won his entry into this event in a satellite, and at a minium, will have a $50K gambling loss receipt to the extent he needs to offset gambling winnings on his taxes. Good luck Soheil. |

[ QUOTE ] No Andy Bloch? [/ QUOTE ] He's there. A few players per table posted up by pokernews... Table 7: Justin Bonomo, Doyle Brunson and Todd Brunson [/ QUOTE ] Totally random seating is just silly. Doyle and Todd should not start on the same table. TDs should be allowed to move of them. |

He did not have a good one last year, so I am glad for him. |

Re: Event #39 - 50K HORSE
Is Hellmuth in this event? He said on his blog he was going to be but I haven't read anything about him.
