Somebody please buy back the WSOP. Can we raise a collection fund here? I'll buy a piece.

How much $ are we going to need?
50 million? 100 million? More?
If this idea gets off the ground, I will also buy a piece.

um, video poker players cant win long term.

UM - Perfect play + comps = winner

[/ QUOTE ]

this does not read the same as "2) A good video poker player makes that in a very short period of time."

Professional video poker players are miserable grinders, it's not like they're crushing the machines day-in, day-out.

The best you could possibly hope for is to play computer-perfect, which I don’t, and even if that were possible the machine still has a maximum theoretical payout chosen by the casino.

[/ QUOTE ]

which is surprising to me, because didn't brodie on the 2005 wsop say he played perfect poker or some such?

I don't remember that specifically, but he was almost certainly joking.

Any2, Richard "Quiet Lion" Brodie is the guy who created Microsoft Word. (He's also the guy whose idea it was to red underline errors in Word) So I doubt he needs to do a collusion scam on video poker.

[/ QUOTE ]

I noted this in another thread on this topic. He was part of a team that created Word -- since he made a name for himself in poker (has he actually won anything?) that bit about being part of a team has been omitted.

I read his blog and without seeing the actual letter or getting more info from Harrah's -- I think we are missing a significant chunk of the story.

There has to be more to the story, right?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, much more and since he dropped this at the beginning of the WSOP with all the hatred people have for Harrah's it seems as if he did a good job in finding suckers who take what he is saying at face value.

The thing is, he's not the ONLY one who got the letter. I know of one other person who got a simular letter as well.

Heh heh ... we're not talkin regular casino's here (where common sense and logic rules the land), we're talking Harrah's.

[/ QUOTE ]

Nice and credible there. Am I just not far enough in the thread or will someone post an actual letter from Harrah's?

Andy Bloch is supposedly not allowed to get near a blackjack table yet he can play all the poker he likes.

Brodie is a minor player for FullTilt. Are we really supposed to believe that he has been denied entry into the WSOP because he was winning at video poker?

The only thing I can figure is maybe they did tell him they did not want his vid poker biz anymore and he said "F.U.," played and was caught and now is not allowed on any of their properties. If that is the case then I have no sympathy whatsoever for him. Just like Microsoft can protect the assets that keep his stocks doubling in value every few years, Harrah's has a right to protect theirs.

I was disappointed when this thread was not about him playing 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] in the WSOP

Or MAYBE he picked up the video poker machine and crushed several old ladies to death with it, and then stole their buckets of quarters.

If that is the case then I have no sympathy whatsoever for him.
