It looks to me as if you guys see it as standard, to come in for a raise with a small pocket pair utg. I appreciate your input and opinions. I was in no way saying that I fold these utg, I was just striking conversation and some discussion. I really dont think folding 22-55 though is all that bad utg.

fwiw, i believe fslexcduck and luegofuego fold small pp utg. it seems to me that this is giving up some ev (and some metagame), but both are much better than i and i'm sure they have their reasons.

the problem with open limping them is that if you're going to do that, you'll probably want to open limp some other hands for the sake of not being too predictable, which sucks in terms of ev for the non-pp hands. i guess you could start cr a few flops with air to ensure that you get some action on sets, but if you limp, you'll be seeing flops with more players on average than if you raise, and putting moves on multiple villains is usually pretty ugly.

besides, if you raise pre, you give yourself a chance to win the blinds.
