[/ QUOTE ] See that thing flying over your head? That was my point. Which was, Holden's first poker book, Big Deal, has been continuously in print since 1990. That means it's been on the bookshop shelves for a good twelve years before any poker book started. What does this mean? That there was *always* a market for a good book on poker by a talented writer -- which Holden is. Same thing is true of Alvarez. The poker boom might have expanded the market, but I'm pretty sure that Random House had made their money back on Big Deal long before the poker boom ever started. |
