So I guess most people would have liked to just call the turn...but, when i thought about what hands he would check/call the flop with out of position, and then lead the turn for pot - i felt very strongly that he was on one of the 2 flush draws or the straight draws...also very possible he had a pair plus a flush draw...i did think there was a small chance that i was already behind to two pair...but overall i really felt strongly that i was ahead, and went ahead with the raise...and in my mind when i raised, i was committing to calling any river bet...his little frantic speech actually made me feel even better about my read...the blind all in bet on the river is what got me thinking...without that i was instacalling...so the question of the thread was meant to be more what range of hands he is making the blind all in with (not so much if the river is a call - in a vacuum its obvious that its a call as played)

anyways, i called and he flipped over the 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]...(looks like thinly veiled bad beat story but i thought the texture of board and everything that happened during the hand made it a good one to talk about)

i hear the point of "You only have one pair/lots of scare cards coming/calling down safer"...but i just didnt think i was behind on the turn...maybe the raise is too thin, but it is what it is...

anyways the cash games have been crazy crazy good...

LOL! He min-raised 32s utg! I believe in every beginners holdem book this is a fold situation, but i could be wrong.

Then he calls 7k into a 14k pot at 4:1 odds.

Then he pushes blind as a huge dog to someone pot committed to call.

Did Gold take a short bus on his way to the casino?

Wow, how did noone guess 23? I have seen like 4 or 5 televised hands it feels like where he gets in a pot holding 23. He was bound to win one eventually.

I'm surprised noone talked about the significance of the "I'm just going to go all in" line here, what that means. I was thinking it was some sort of weak 2 pair or top/not-quite-top that didn't want to get bluffed out on the river if a bad card hit (makes no sense, but we're talking JG here), but I guess not.

Jamie Gold is the goods.

No excuses for the hand up until that point, but am I the only one who doesn't hate Gold's blind river push?

Gold read hero's hand cold and knew the 3 was coming on the river. It's called "feel" and he has it. There's a reason he is the World Champ.

Honestly, how many players do you know can felt somone min-raising 32s from UTG? I know 1, and his name is Jamie Gold.

If he straddled preflop, I am raising. If he open limped preflop, I am raising. If he minraised UTG preflop, I am raising. If he open potted preflop, I am raising. If it is my first hand at the table and I am not yet settled in, I am raising. If it's the last hand before the game breaks, I am raising. C'mon, it's Jamie Gold, start getting the money in there...

He's WAY better than 4:1, more like 2.39:1.
