Re: Cheating in sports
Bonds has basically been the best player in baseball every single year of his career. When everyone around him started using steroids, he probably thought to himself "This is complete bull [censored], I am so much better than these guys, and they are getting all of these accolades as being awesome, what a crock."
So then he started using steroids(LIKE EVERYONE ELSE) and proceeded to produce unfathomable numbers which were truly historic and far better than anyone of his era. So basically : Pre-Steroids Era - Bonds was the best Steroids Era - Bonds was the best To say he is only great because of steroids is just ignorance. |

Re: Cheating in sports
do you think he would be even close to approaching Hank Aaron's record without it, i don't think so.
Also, I do think bonds is very good look at his BB to K ratio as well his OBP. |

Do you think (insert player who holds an all time record) would have set that record if it wasn't for his era, I don't think so.

[/ QUOTE ] This is what I'm trying to say, THAY3R. I'm not doubting he's one of the best pure hitters of the game, I said that in my previous post. He can hit the ball for base hits as well as homeruns. I'm just saying, the validity of his homerun status is brought into serious question because of this, and this is what I find disgusting about the use of drugs in the game. |

Do you think (insert player who holds an all time record) would have set that record if it wasn't for his era, I don't think so. [/ QUOTE ] During the deadball era it applied to everyone, all the players had the same effects. However, the steroid era is a selective era in terms of hitters, not every player took them. Imagine Hank Aaron on steroids, how many hrs would he have hit- 900? |

Re: Cheating in sports
You don't think Aaron used greenies?
If he did, you think everyone in baseball did? |

Re: Cheating in sports
Baseball tacitly approved of steroids. By baseball, I mean the commissioners office, the players union, and ownership. Therefore, I've come to the conclusion that it's all good. Evidence suggests that 30-50% of players were on some sort of enhancer, so it was a reasonably level playing field. Bonds = best player ever.

Re: Cheating in sports
Oh Cmon.
You're basically saying Bonds did all of this horrible stuff with no proof yourself, and saying he was like the only one who did it, and now you are questioning Clark for proof? |
