Jever Pils FTW! [/ QUOTE ] Ye-wer (soft 'v', flat 'r') is sold all over Germany, but it's from the Northern Area, that's correct. I like it because of it's bitter taste. |

Re: BBV: Ask schummlalala what\'s it like to live in Germany
[ QUOTE ]
Can I visit Germany not knowing a lick of German and still be able to communicate fairly well with most people? How bi-(or tri, quad, whatever)lingual is the majority of the population? [/ QUOTE ] Yes, most people will understand you more or less, if not they will communicate 'mit Händen und Füßen' which means they will use gestures to help/ chat with you. Most germans are very helpful and friendly to visitors. I don't know exact numbers, but it's not like in sweden, where english is the second language. [ QUOTE ] How did you bastards deal with having such a close game with the US in the 2002 World Cup? Do you feel lucky that the blatant hand ball on the goal line wasn't called? [/ QUOTE ] I've to admit that I can not remember that specific game. I'm more into motor sports. And I like American Football, but my pay tv broadcaster didn't show the NFL this year. Beat. |
